Back On Course

Problem: Argon Medical wanted to feature a patient success story to reinforce its mission to improve the lives of patients through best-in-class medical devices and superior service. They came to Meditech to explore developing a case study featuring a patient in need and a physician that was able to deliver successful treatment and a great outcome.

Solution: Argon identified a patient, PGA golfer Troy Merritt, who had a very compelling story. Meditech started by interviewing the physician to understand the patient's medical needs, treatment and outcomes. We then interviewed the patient and learned he was a PGA golfer, developed a serious blood clot, and was desperately seeking treatment to get him back on the tour. Because of Troy's demanding PGA schedule we had to capture the physician interview, Troy's interview and the supporting footage of Troy at home and on the course in a single day. We developed interview questions so we could tell the story of the patient with a serious blood clot, who was desperately seeking help. We also developed questions for the physician, to explain the medical need and procedure. We wanted to showcase the minimally invasive treatment that successfully got his patient back on the course and competing at golf's highest level just a few days after receiving treatment. The story included heartwarming video of the patient at home with family and on the course playing golf.

Outcome: The result was an extremely engaging video that explained the treatment and demonstratied ifs effectiveness. It also presented the ability for patient's to quickly return to normal daily activiteies. Capturing all of the video in a single day also resulted in an exceedingly efficient and cost effective production for our client Argon. The video is currently used successfully with patients to inform and reassure them about the treatment with the ARGON CLEANER™ Rotational Thrombectomy System.
